13-07-2017 Turespaña joins Termatalia 2017

13/07 / 2017.- Make Spain a world leader in health and wellness tourism. This is one of the main strategic lines of the Spanish Tourism Institute, Turespaña, which has led it to bet firmly on Termatalia to position the destination before agents of the sector of 40 countries. Turespaña will facilitate the organization of important professional actions of Termatalia as the call to tour operators and prescribers from various issuing markets, and thus becomes one of the main partners of the International fair, to be held in Ourense between 20 and 23 September.

The participation of Turespaña in Termatalia was ratified following the meeting between the director general of the Institute, Manuel Butler, and the director of the fair, Alejandro Rubín, who had the support and presence of Nava Castro, director of the Agency Gallega de Turismo, entity that has become the main supporter of the international project. Manuel Butler showed his support to Termatalia, an appointment that he knows well since he personally participated in the 2013 edition, during his first stage as director of the Institute of Tourism of Spain.

The support of Turespaña to Termatalia will serve to reinforce the professional actions that program the fair, especially those that pursue the objective of the internationalization of the sector and the foreign promotion of Spain as a tourist destination of Health and Well-being. Among these activities, it is worth mentioning the mission of tour operators who will participate in the Touristic Recruitment Exchange, inviting wholesalers from different parts of the world. These operators will have the opportunity to know in addition different tourist resources associated to thermalism with a focus of quality in the Galician community (enogastroturismo, golf, sport, among others).

This action is also extended to the international specialized press, summoning prescribers who will take part in Termatalia and contribute to the promotion of Spain and Galicia through a journey of familiarization to the territory.

Turespaña works with other public and private entities directly linked to the sector, such as the Health Tourism Cluster (Spaincares), the Spanish Agency of Travel Agencies (CEAV) or the National Association of Spas of Spain (ANBAL). These entities defend the same objectives as Termatalia and, in fact, the president of the latter who is also the President of the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE) Miguel Mirones, will be the chair of the advisory committee of the 2017 edition.

Turespaña is the national tourism body responsible for the marketing of Spain in the world and to create value for its tourism sector by promoting the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the national destinations. Its mission is to constitute the vanguard of the Spanish Tourism strategy, coordinating and leading the public and private actors. Tourism, Spain, Marketing and Knowledge are the three pillars on which Turespaña bases its strategy and action, all based on public-private collaboration. Health tourism is a strategic commitment of Turespaña and has among its objectives the deseasonalization of tourism in Spain, promote less known tourist destinations with a high value, improve the average stay and put the focus of attention on other products and complementary tourism resources To health tourism.
