Madrid, FITUR, 18/01/2018.-  Termatalia starts the promotion in Europe of its third edition in Latin America at FITUR. It will take place in Foz do Iguaçu, State of Paraná, Brazil, between September 12 and 14, 2018 under the slogan "Energy from the waters" and will involve new business opportunities for companies in Spain and Galicia, as well as the other participating countries. The choice of Brazil as headquarters is led by the Iguazú Fund for Tourism Development and Promotion and the Foz do Iguaçu Prefabrication and has the support of the main public and private entities linked to tourism in this region and also in the country (State of Paraná and the Ministry of Tourism of Brazil) to position it internationally, also as a thermal destination.

The presentation of this afternoon at FITUR was attended by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Matilde Asián; of the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Brazil, Alberto Alves; from the Director of Tourism of Galicia, Nava Castro; of the president of ANBAL and ICTE and of UNWTO Affiliated Members, Miguel Mirones; of the Mayor of Ourense, Jesús Vázquez, and of the Secretary of Tourism of Foz do Iguaçu, Gilmar Piolla. The latter has been one of the great supporters for this city is going to become headquarters of Termatalia.

The Secretary of State for Tourism made reference to the good time that tourism is experiencing in Galicia and indicated that "Termatalia is a project closely linked to tourism quality and excellence". For his part, the president of Spas of Spain, Miguel Mirones, said that "this fair is necessary because it also represents entrepreneurs in the thermal sector and has helped us to internationalize."

The 18th edition of this event will be held between September 19 and 21, 2018 and will bring together professionals from more than 25 countries. Consolidating its role as a thermal bridge between Europe and Latin America, Termatalia goes a step further and expands its scope of action incorporating the markets of the Middle East and Asia Pacific. This supposes a network of 26 delegations in 54 countries of 4 continents, which contributes to generate new opportunities among the agents integrated in the strategic network of Termatalia, which is highly specialized in this market niche.

The professionalization of the sector, both tourist and industrial and business will continue to occupy a prominent place in the fair through the Tourist Recruitment Exchange between Tour Operators and Establishments, Suppliers of Capital Goods and potential importers from various countries, drinking waters packaged and distributors as well as professional visitors from 20 to 30 countries.

Foz do Iguaçu
Foz de Iguazú, headquarters of Termatalia Brasil 2018, is a city whose main economic resources are closely linked to water. Here the famous waterfalls are located worldwide, which give it its name, and also houses the largest hydroelectric power plant in the world, Itaipu Binacional. It is the second destination chosen by foreigners who visit Brazil. It has a privileged location, in the triple border of Brazil with Argentina and Paraguay (with which it shares the famous cataracts) and in the geographical center of Mercosur. The Iguazú Destination receives more than 5 million tourists a year, including those who visit the falls, the hydroelectric power station and those who participate in the events organized there, since it is also a MICE destination (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing , Exhibitions). Due to the strategic position it occupies, it becomes an accessible destination for Latin America and very attractive for other countries from other continents that want to participate as exhibitors or visitors of Termatalia Brasil 2018.

The celebration of the fair in Brazil will also serve to strengthen the presence of Brazil in Termatalia and to promote through it to Ourense and Galicia as thermal destinations. Spain is the fourth tourist destination market in this country that exceeds 200 million inhabitants. According to data from Canadian Travel & Tourism, it is estimated that in 2018 the number of Brazilians traveling abroad will reach 11.3 million. On the other hand, Spain is the ninth country to send tourists to Brazil.

Brazil in Termatalia
Several editions ago that companies and institutions in Brazil showed interest in Termatalia to position this country as a thermal destination. This led in 2015 to the organization to open a delegation of the fair for the States of Sao Paulo and Paraná, where most of the participating exhibitors came from. The delegate in this country in Fabio Lazzerini, vice president of the World Organization of Thermalism (OMTh) and president of the Latin American Association of Thermalism (ALAth). To reinforce the presence of Brazil this new edition, Termatalia has appointed a new commercial delegate, Paulo de Abreu Agneli. He is a great connoisseur of the tourism sector in Brazil and has great experience in the organization of events since he is one of the coordinators of the Festival das Cataratas Tourism- Foz do Iguaçu Travel Market, one of the most important in the country and exceeds its success to each edition.

International promotion
To add exhibitors and professionals, Termatalia starts in FITUR an intense international promotion campaign that will take it in the coming months will be present in the main world tourism and thermalism forums such as the ITB in Berlin, the HTI-Conference in Croatia, the BTL in Lisbon or the Annual Congress of the European Spa Association (ESPA), as well as promotional and academic actions in Latin American countries.
