08/06 / 2018.- Expourense, through its international brand Termatalia, has launched a project that aims to promote Galicia as a health, medical and healthy tourism destination. Fundación Semana Verde de Galicia and the Provincial Hospitality Federation of Ourense accompany this project that was presented to the Ideas Contest launched by the Tourism Cluster of Galicia with the support of the Xunta.

To carry out this objective of promoting Galicia as a destination for health and medical tourism, the three entities involved have launched a series of actions that also promote the complementary offer, and of which healthy and sustainable gastronomy are part of. trade. The first of them was carried out within the framework of the Turexpo fair held in Silleda until next Sunday. It was the Healthy Gastronomy Workshop given by the Galician chef Julio Mato del Río, head chef of the Ecochotel Nos, who prepared live cooking dishes with Galician products and kilometer zero. Coinciding with the inauguration of the Abanca Green Week international fair in which Turexpo is part of, they visited the Corner Cookingthe conselleira do Medio Rural, Ánxeles Vázquez, the director of Tourism Nava Castro and the director of Agriculture, Belén Docampo, among others local authorities.

The next action within this project will be a training session on Galician cuisine at the Maceda castle taught by chef Carlos Parra, on June 20.

This project will conclude with the celebration in Brazil, in Foz do Iguaçu, between the 12th and the 14th of September of the next edition of Termatalia, International Fair of Thermal Tourism, Health and Welfare. Within the framework of the Tourist Contracting Exchange and before tour operators from a score of countries, a Catalog will be presented that includes Galicias Health and Medical tourism offer. In addition, this fair will feature a healthy eating classroom in which a Galician chef will participate.
