11-06-2018 Entre Ríos presents its candidacy to host Termatalia in 2020

The Argentine province of Entre Ríos has been nominated as a candidate to become the headquarters of Termatalia for the year 2020. The Secretary of Tourism and Culture of the Provincial Government of Entre Ríos, Carolina Gaillard, handed over the director of Termatalia, Alejandro Rubín, of the document that collects the intention to host the next edition that the fair in that year. In 2018 it will be held in Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil and in 2019 it will be held in Ourense, Spain.

The framework chosen for the presentation of this candidacy was the National Tourism Forum of Wellness, Health and Thermalism, held on June 7 in Concordia and organized by the Provincial Government of Entre Ríos with the collaboration of FEHGRA, the Federation of Hotel Businessmen and Gastronómicos of the Argentine Republic. This forum brought together experts in health tourism from all over the country and counted with the active participation of the director of Termatalia as the only invited international speaker.

During his participation in this important Forum, Alejandro Rubín gave a presentation on Therapeutic and Social Thermalism Programs. Experiences in Europe and presented the next edition of the fair that will be held in Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil between September 12 and 14, 2018 and in which the Government of Entre Ríos will participate again as an exhibitor also taking advantage to defend its candidacy as the venue for the international fair.

The province of Entre Ríos has participated in Termatalia in numerous editions, also in the last three, which is one of the conditions required to become the venue for the fair in Latin America. It is the Argentine province that accumulates more hot springs with fifteen thermal centers that promote health tourism, relaxation and wellness distributed in thirteen locations. Thermal tourism is one of the fastest growing in the world and particularly in Argentina. Two million Argentines travel per year to take advantage of the benefits of thermal waters.

Entre Ríos is the National Capital of the Thermalism, its hot springs are distributed in Basavilbaso, Chajarí, Colón, Concepción del Uruguay, Concordia, Federation, Gualeguaychú, La Paz, María Grande, San José, Victoria, Villa Elisa and Villaguay, on the coasts of the Paraná and Uruguay rivers. The Entre Ríos complexes are recognized in the country for their infrastructure, with centers that have pools with indoor hot springs and open air, as well as fresh water. Many include water parks, games for children, barbecue grills and a varied offer of accommodation and regional cuisine.
